We’re kicking butt! The Maltese Islands have the lowest number of active cases of countries in the European Union according to figures published by Worldometer. This comes as yesterday Malta registered zero cases for the third consecutive day, with today expecting to be the fourth day with zero cases.

With just 11 people being treated for the novel Coronavirus, Malta has the lowest number of active cases of countries in the European Union. Malta is followed by Estonia with 46 and Latvia with 96 active cases according to Worldometer, a statistics website that shares real-time figures.

However, according to an analysis done by Times of Malta which looked at the number of active cases per 500,000 population, Malta still stands in first place with 12 active cases, followed by Estonia with 19 and Finland with 20.

Looking at Europe overall, Malta comes in ninth place, mostly being beaten by smaller countries including San Marino (0 active), Isle of Man (0 active), Vatican City (0 active), Faeroe Islands (1 active), Liechtenstein (2 active), Andorra (3 active), Gibraltar (3 active) and Monaco (9 active).

Keep up the great work, Malta!
