Rediscovering St Julian’s! A nostalgic journey back to the 1960s
Truly, a photo frozen in time, bringing with it an array of memories

Anthea Cachia

St Julian’s has changed drastically over the years and so old photographs from the past always evoke a sense of nostalgia.

A photo shared by Jesmond Bonnici, taken in close proximity to the iconic today's LOVE sign, gives a glimpse of St Julian's from the past.

In the black and white picture, St Julian’s Parish Church can be seen in the background, still in the midst of construction.

A commentor on the post remarked that the house beside the church, visibly noticable in the photo, still stands to this day.

The photo evokes even more nostalgia with the sight of Malta’s traditional buses patiently waiting for locals to hop aboard.

Moreover, horse-drawn karozzin and their drivers can also be observed nearby, positioned alongside a religious statue.

What a difference!
