Today's the day! Malta's airport is reopening its doors to an additional 28 countries
Welcome! Today is the day when Malta's airport officially returns to normal as it reopens its doors to an additional 28 countries that have been deemed safe to travel to and from amidst the global pandemic.
The list of countries Malta will be opening its doors to include: United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, Jordan, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, South Korea, Japan, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, China, Vatican City, Rwanda, Uruguay, Slovenia, Morocco, Thailand, Turkey, Tunisia, Portugal, Romania, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, and Liechtenstein.
These countries have been added to the preliminary list of countries that were classified as safe and have been operating since the airport's partial opening on 1st July. Reportedly, the European Commission will be revising this list every two weeks depending on how the situation progresses.
We know you'd love to get your butt off the island for a quick getaway, but there are some things you should keep in mind when travelling. It is advised to avoid large crowds, keep practicing hand hygiene, and also wearing a mask inside the airport.
Have a safe journey!
