Famed Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja has just shared some exciting news – he will be appearing in an upcoming international documentary that’s all about Malta!

Titled ‘Hidden Malta’, the documentary is being produced by Emmy Award-winning U.S. journalist Peter Greenberg, and it will be shining a global spotlight on the islands’ rich cultural and historical heritage. The feature is expected to premiere in autumn 2025 on PBS-TV and will also be available on major international streaming platforms including Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.

Joseph Calleja, who is also Malta’s cultural ambassador, took to social media to express his pride in being part of the production. He shared a photo of himself and Peter Greenberg inside St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, captioned: ‘It was a busy period for my role as Maltese Cultural Ambassador. It was a pleasure to feature in a documentary about Malta with Peter Greenberg. This documentary will air on a major network and platform and it’s going to be spectacular!’ he wrote.

Earlier this year, Peter Greenberg also brought his CBS News Eye on Travel show to Malta during the filming of the documentary, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, including a stunning shot of the Valletta Waterfront, that gave followers a preview of what’s to come.

Excited to see Malta through a new set of eyes?
