Hello, summer? Malta expected to hit 31°C real feel temperatures next week
May's off to a sizzling start!

After yesterday’s stormy wake-up call, it’s almost hard to believe how gloriously blue the skies are today – and it looks like Malta and Gozo are in for even more sunshine in the days ahead!

According to Maltese Islands Weather, we're in for a sunny start to May, with temperatures steadily climbing throughout the week. This Saturday is expected to hit 27°C, with a real feel of around 30°C – and by Tuesday, we're looking at highs that could feel like a scorching 31°C.

It’s not just the heat making a comeback – calmer winds are also on the horizon, a welcome change for anyone planning to take the ferry or enjoy a boat trip. After several blustery weekends, smoother seas are definitely something to smile about.

Planning a dip this weekend? You're not alone! But before you dash for the water, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The UV index is already hitting 8, so don’t forget to apply (and reapply!) that sunscreen.
  • Avoid the midday sun, especially between 11am and 3pm.
  • Stay hydrated – take plenty of water with you.
  • Keep an eye out for jellyfish warnings before you swim!

With the weather shifting into full-on beach mode, now’s the perfect time to soak up the sunshine, explore the outdoors, or simply enjoy a seaside lunch with a view.

Will this weekend mark your first swim of the year?
