It has recently been announced that in excess of one million patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have since recovered.

According to statistics displayed on WorldoMeter, 1,028,686 patients have recovered while 230,244 died due to COVID-19. At present, the number of active worldwide cases stands at 1,997,902, with 54,752 reported in critical condition.

However, these figures are not conclusive as it remains unclear how many active COVID-19 patients around the world have not yet tested for the virus, or have passed away prior to receiving medical care.

Currently, Malta has 96 active cases, after dropping below the 100-case mark following news of 16 more recoveries overnight.
