In what is fast turning out to be the hottest summer on record, things are hotting up on the Maltese Islands once again, as weather forecasting sites show some high temperatures heading our way this weekend.
Starting today, temperatures are expected to feel as hot as 45°C at times over the next few days, until at least next Wednesday, according to Malta Weather.
In fact, Maltese Islands Weather has issued a heat wave warning, for what is expected to be “this season’s second intense heat wave.”

Tips for dealing with the heat
- Close your windows and draw your curtains at the hottest time of the day, to keep indoor temperatures as cool as possible
- Avoid direct sunlight between 11am and 4pm
- Cool off with a cold bath or shower
- Drink plenty of liquids, avoiding hot and dehydrating drinks
- Wear a high factor sunscreen, hat and sunglasses when outside
- Ensure your pets have a cool area to shelter, and keep them hydrated at all times
- Don’t leave flammable substances or materials in direct sunlight
