Well done! Maltese weightlifting athletes shine bright at the European Small Nations Championships
The athletes included big names like Tenishia Thorton, Rylee Borg, Kim Camilleri Lagana, Roberta Tabone, and others!

The Malta Weightlifting Team left an indelible mark at the European Small Nations Championships in Monaco, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination on the weightlifting stage.

Led by the outstanding performance of Tenishia Thornton, the team secured numerous victories, showcasing Malta's skill in the sport.

The young starlet Tenishia emerged as the standout athlete of the championship, claiming the title of best female lifter in both Junior and Senior categories. Her remarkable feat included smashing four national records in the 64kg category, solidifying her dominance.

With an impressive display, Tenishia lifted a total of 199kg across six lifts, setting the bar high for her competitors. Accompanied by her teammate Roberta Tabone, the duo clinched the Female Doubles title, further enhancing Malta's success.

Notably, 17-year-old Rylee Borg made waves by securing the title of best Junior Male athlete with a total lift of 253kg. His remarkable performance in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk categories showcased his potential as a rising star in Maltese weightlifting.

Additionally, young talent Nathan Mifsud impressed with his podium finish in the Junior U20 category, breaking national records in the process.

Kim Camilleri Lagana contributed to Malta's success with a solid performance, claiming the silver medal in the Junior U20 category.

Alongside Anton Micallef, Rylee Borg also secured a bronze medal in the Male Doubles category, further highlighting Malta's depth in weightlifting talent.

In the Senior Mixed team category, the Maltese team secured the silver medal, underscoring their collective strength and cohesion on the international stage. Despite fierce competition from countries like Iceland, the Maltese lifters showcased resilience and skill throughout the championship.
