If your nighttime driving route tends to involve the bypass of Birkirkara, otherwise known as Triq Dun Karm Psaila, you’ll want to keep this bit of news in mind for next week. The bypass will be partially and fully closed on selected nights next week as Infrastructure Malta carries out resurfacing works.

The impacted dates are as follows:

  • Monday 15th September
  • Tuesday 16th September
  • Thursday 18th September
  • Friday 19th September

For the dates listed above, this is the schedule of works that will be in effect:

  • 8PM till 10PM – One lane will be closed to allow for mobilisation and preparatory scarifying works. The inner lane will remain open for normal traffic flow, including public transport.
  • 10PM till 5AM – Full road closure will be in effect. No access will be permitted during this time.
  • 5AM till 8PM – The road will be fully reopened to two-lane traffic.

Infrastructure Malta is urging drivers to plan alternative routes and to follow all on-site signage and directions from traffic management personnel.

Drive safely!
