Our healthcare system is doing so well because of the women leading it, says UoM Dean
University of Malta’s Faculty of Social Wellbeing Dean, Prof. Andrew Azzopardi had some words of praise for the women running the nation’s healthcare system.
“Why is our health system doing so well? One obvious reason is the women who are heading it. I have been saying; 'we would be better off in this Country if women take the lead'. Our health system is exemplary,” he says.
Prof. Azzopardi proceeds to mention just a few of the women leading the healthcare system: CEO of Primary Health Care Services Roseanne Camilleri, CEO of Mater Dei Celia Falzon, Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci and the Faculty of Health Sciences’ Dean, Dr Roberta Sammut.
“It is not coincidental that we have amongst the best national health services in the World,” he says.
