Malta’s leaders celebrate Mother’s Day with the sweetest messages to all mamas out there
Happy Mother’s Day to all mamas out there! This is a special day when mothers, those who are still with us, and even those who have passed, are celebrated. Some of Malta’s leaders shared sweet messages to commemorate this day.
Prime Minister Robert Abela
“Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers,” he says, wishing his mother Margaret and his wife Lydia are very special day. He said they are “two maternal flowers very important in my life.” He also shared some thoughts for mothers still here with us and those who have gone to a better place. “We are thinking of you all with love.”
President of Malta, Dr George Vella
“I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers,” Dr George Vella starts off. “My wife Miriam took the opportunity today to talk (virtually) to the Commissioner for Violence Audrey Friggieri about the importance of discussing domestic violence,” he shared, saying she wishes to help mothers in shelters such as Dar Merhba Bik, Dar Qalb ta’ Gesu and L-Ghabex.
Deputy PM and Health Minister Chris Fearne
This Mother’s Day the office of the Deputy PM put together a sweet video dedicated to all mothers that work in the health sector during this difficult time. “On Mother’s Day I would like to wish mothers the best, especially those who work in the health sector. Grazzi Ma.” The video features children, mothers, and grandmothers sharing their experiencing while thanking their own mothers for everything they do.
Leader of the Opposition, Adrian Delia
