Before the treatment, the painting showed signs of wear and tear, with minor canvas deformations and surface alterations marring its beauty. However, thanks to the meticulous efforts of the conservators, this iconic artwork has been rejuvenated.
Through careful cleaning and consolidation, the painting's original brilliance has been unveiled. Areas of paint loss, which once disrupted the composition, have been painstakingly re-integrated, allowing the viewer to appreciate Preti's skill in all its glory.
Furthermore, the stretcher frame's adjustment ensures that the canvas remains perfectly taut, preserving the artwork for generations to come.
A true masterpiece!
