Way to go, girl! Our island has received high praise from the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) that congratulated Malta for the work that has been done and continues to be carried out in the tourism sector to ensure that it is safeguarded and sustainable during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Robert Abela, UNWTO’s Secretary General, Zurab Pololikashvili said, “We are closely following the incredible work of your government in this exceptional crisis and I wish to personally congratulate you for your commitment and efforts as Prime Minister in helping the travel and tourism sectors to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak and to address its socio-economic impact.”

Tourism is just another of Malta’s sectors that is being watched, after Malta was also praised for its stellar work in the healthcare sphere. Malta ranks among the European countries with the highest testing rate with international healthcare workers being impressed by the country’s response to the pandemic.
