The Mellieħa Local Council has issued a notice to inform residents, commuters, and visitors that roadworks on the Mellieħa roundabout will begin tonight, Monday 16th June, and continue into Tuesday 17th June.

The scheduled works will take place overnight between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, in an effort to minimise disruption during peak traffic hours.

To facilitate the upgrade and maintenance works, a number of traffic diversions will be in effect throughout the night. Enforcement officers will be on-site to assist with the management of traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Vehicles coming from Telgħa ta’ Selmun will be diverted through Triq Louis Wettinger and Triq Qasam Barrani.
  • After 8:00 PM, all traffic exiting Mellieħa must do so via Manikata.
  • Public transport heading toward Valletta will be rerouted through the Mellieħa Bypass, Triq il-Biedja, and Triq San Pawl.
  • Public transport entering Mellieħa will use the Mellieħa Bypass and stop at a temporary bus stop next to the primary school.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead, follow signage and enforcement officers’ directions, and allow extra travel time if you’re passing through the area.

Stay safe and drive cautiously!
