Earth Hour is the world’s largest hour for the planet: a moment dedicated to supporting nature and taking action for our planet. It’s an hour that unites countries all around the world to call for action on nature loss and the climate crisis, while inspiring millions to act and advocate for urgent change. Every hour we contribute adds up to a global force of action for our planet.

This year, Earth Hour will be celebrated on Saturday 28th March at St George’s Square in Valletta from 6:30PM onwards, featuring music, activities, and a candlelit ambience, along with practical eco‑friendly tips from the Ministry for the Environment, Energy, and Public Cleanliness entities on saving energy, reducing waste, conserving water, protecting biodiversity, and sustainability.
And that’s not it! From 8:30PM to 9:30PM, prominent buildings across Malta and Gozo, such as monuments, administrative buildings, educational institutions, local councils, places of worship (including churches), and other public spaces will turn off their lights in support of this initiative.

How can you do your part? Connect with nature, plan an outdoor adventure, walk or cycle to your destination instead of using your car for short trips or carpool, go stargazing, plant a tree, volunteer for a clean-up, or learn more by watching nature documentaries. In short, fall in love with the nature that surrounds you.
