Maltese-Australian national Anton Saliba is preparing to run across Malta and Gozo in a single effort this summer, in memory of his late father and to raise funds for cancer research.

Anton said that his Maltese dad, who later moved to Australia, had dreamed of taking his son to visit his old home. However, his dream was never realised after he passed away from cancer in 2012.

“This run is my way of fulfilling that dream, and doing what I can, so that fewer children, partners, and parents have to experience the type of loss that defines a life,” Anton said.

Anton will now run around 190km on 22nd August, raising funds for Hospice Malta and Cancer Council Australia.
