Maltese spritzes and Gozitan ftajjar now being served in Tennessee!
The humble Gozitan ftira has made it all the way to Tennessee!

In Red Bank, Tennessee, at the foothills of the Appalachians, a new restaurant is serving up Gozitan ftajjar and other Maltese snacks.

The Spritzeria was set up by Maltese national Dru and his wife Julie, and as the name suggests, it serves up a wide range of refreshing spritzes – including a special Maltese Spritz with prickly pear liquor.

Several Gozitan ftajjar are on the menu, including a classic ‘Calpyso’ complete with goat cheese, Maltese sausage, and potatoes.

Other tasty Maltese food items include bigilla, lupini beans and focaccia biż-żejt.

A former tech worker, Dru was born, raised and spent most of his life in Malta, which is also where he met Julie.

Intending to bring some Mediterranean lifestyle to Tennessee, they said that the Spritzeria is built on simple ingredients, slow evenings, and the belief that the best moments happen when you stop rushing them.

For anyone who lives in or is planning to visit Tennessee, this place definitely looks worth checking out!
