Valletta has earned a spot among Europe’s leading weekend break destinations, according to Times Travel.

In a recent feature spotlighting the best hotels in Valletta for 2026, the publication praised the Maltese capital for its striking architecture, vibrant dining scene, stylish boutique accommodation and warm climate that lasts through most of the year.

Describing Valletta as an ideal short-haul getaway for British travellers, Times Travel highlighted the city’s picture-perfect appeal, from its honey-coloured baroque buildings and lively rooftop bars to its charming streets lined with history.

The article also noted Valletta’s growing luxury hospitality sector, mentioning several standout hotels and new openings, including the upcoming Romegas boutique hotel housed within a restored 16th-century palazzo.

Featured stays included Iniala Harbour House, The Phoenicia Malta, Casa Ellul and The Embassy Valletta.

The publication also praised Valletta’s compact layout, making it easy to explore on foot while enjoying a blend of historic character and modern luxury experiences.
