Talks began a few months ago.

Back in February, talks to get the Malta-Gozo helicopter service up and running again began. And now, the helipad, which has been unused for nearly 15 years, is one step closer to being reopened, as a call for proposals is issued.

The call was launched by state company Malta Air Travel Ltd (Malta Medair). The Tourism Ministry together with Malta Medair have concluded the preparatory and consultative work, so now Government can proceed to find an operator for the helicopter service.

The Malta-Gozo helicopter service will carry at least 15 passengers and can take them from the Gozo heliport to Malta International Airport in just a few minutes. How cool is that? Better than traffic on the roads, that's for sure!

This project aims to improve connectivity between the two islands, to maximise Gozo’s potential. The Gozo Ministry also said that this will improve with the Gozo Channel’s fourth vessel.
