Following a recent advisory that temporarily prohibited swimming in a section of Marsaskala, health authorities have now confirmed that the area is safe to dive back into.

The Environmental Health Directorate within Malta’s Superintendence of Public Health has officially lifted the no-swimming notice for the Fajtata site (Code: A07), located along Triq il-Qaliet in Marsaskala.

The restriction was initially issued after an irregularity was identified in the drainage system of the nearby public latrine. However, following prompt action and necessary repairs, officials have confirmed that the issue has been resolved.

Several water samples were taken over the past few days, and the results show that the seawater quality now meets the required safety standards under the EU Bathing Water Directive.

So if Marsaskala is on your summer swim list, you're good to go!

As always, follow local guidelines and respect the sea — clean seas make for the best beach days.
