Beauty of nature! Appeal for volunteers as Loggerhead turtle lays eggs at Ghadira Bay
It’s the third turtle nest recorded this summer.

Sarah Micallef

Last night, a Loggerhead turtle was recorded laying eggs in a nest at Ghadira Bay, making it the third turtle nest recorded on the beaches of the Maltese Islands this summer.

The eggs will take two months to hatch, and Nature Trust Malta is appealing for volunteers to help monitor the area in shifts.

Earlier this summer, similar nests were recorded in Golden Bay in Malta and Ramla Bay in Gozo, both of which are receiving round-the-clock monitoring until the little eggs hatch.
