YAS! 10 shots showing Mosta is gearing up to celebrate the renowned feast tomorrow
Tomorrow it’s the feast of Santa Marija, a public holiday on the islands and one of the most-celebrated local feasts (hello shutdown!). While mostly a religious holiday, 15th August also bears historical significance for the local population: the Ohio tanker was dragged into the Grand Harbour bringing in supplies after it was torpedoed and set alight multiple times, bringing hope to the Maltese Islands during World War II.
Every year, the feast is celebrated in Hal Ghaxaq, Gudja, Attard, Mosta, Mqabba, Qrendi and in Victoria, Gozo. But the most-known is probably Mosta’s feast, which always impresses festa-goers. Here are 10 shots that show this town is totally ready to get the party started!
