Where’d the rain go? Malta’s gearing up for yet another SUNNY week
Luckily, Sunday should bring about some showers…

The country breathed a collective sigh of relief as rain fell over the islands last Saturday, marking the conclusion of a seemingly endless hot streak for the Maltese islands.

Having said that, it seems like it might be a while before we’re treated to some more downpour…

Taking to social media, local weather page It-Temp Madwarna revealed how Mother Nature’s set to bring about nothing but generally sunny weather all the way till Friday.

“Following the stormy weather that hit the islands towards the end of [last] week, a high pressure front is set to get stronger over central Europe and the Balkans before extending over the Mediterranean,” the page wrote.

“In spite of this, cold fronts from the Balkans are expected to lead to the development of a storm system over the Ionian Sea towards the end of [this] week,” it continued.

It-Temp Madwarna highlighted how this means that sunny weather will dominate the Maltese islands’ meteorological forecast until Saturday 12th November. Sunday 13th November, however, is set to mark the return of “rainfall and wintery weather”.

Similarly, the Malta International Airport’s meteorological office is predicting generally sunny skies for most of the week and ‘possible showers’ on Saturday.

Temperatures are set to reach highs of 22°C every day until Saturday. Sunday should bring about a minor drop in temperatures, with highs of 19°C and lows of 17°C expected for the day. The Malta International Airport is also predicting isolated showers on Sunday 13th.
