Scorching heat! Malta set to sizzle with real-feel temperatures expected to hit 43°C next week
Pack your hats and sunscreen...next week’s a tough one!

Next week in Malta is shaping up to be a sweltering one, with temperatures climbing higher than ever before this summer. While today and over the weekend remain hot, with highs in the mid 30°C, temperatures are expected to soar by early next week.

According to the popular Maltese Islands Weather Facebook page, next week’s ‘real‑feel’ temperatures will push to unprecedented levels. Here’s what’s being forecast:

  • Monday (July 21): Feels like 41 °C
  • Tuesday (July 22): Feels like 43 °C
  • Wednesday (July 23): Feels like 42 °C
  • Thursday (July 24): Feels like 43 °C

These ‘feels like’ numbers take into account humidity and sun exposure, key factors in Malta’s subtropical Mediterranean climate, and indicate that next week could bring the hottest days of the year so far.

Such intense heat demands preparation. It’s important to stay hydrated and carry water throughout the day. Avoid peak sun hours, especially between 12 and 4 pm, and use sun protection while also wearing hats, apply sunscreen, and wear breathable clothing. We also suggest that you limit strenuous outdoor activity — save workouts or gardening for early morning or evening.

With four straight days of oppressive heat ahead (and maybe more to come?), next week will test both body and planning.

Keep an eye on official weather alerts in case thresholds for heat-health warnings are reached.

Be smart, stay cool, and take care...this could be Malta’s hottest week yet!
