The ranking was issued by the Centre for World University Ranking.
It seems like the University of Malta’s (UoM) efforts are being recognised, as it’s just been announced that it ranks in the top 8.7 per cent of universities worldwide.
That’s right! Out of the 19,788 universities around the globe, Malta’s university ranked 1,702nd and 570th in Europe.
From a research perspective, UoM ranked even higher, taking up the 1,628th position.
Said rankings are issued by the Centre for World University Research, which bases its list on four key categories: education, research, employability, and faculty members.
- Education refers to the number of university graduates that win academic awards.
- Research refers to the amount of research the university executes and how many publications and academic journals it’s published.
- Employability takes into consideration graduates’ places of work.
- Faculty members who have been honoured with a number of academic awards help elevate a university’s ranking.
The top five places in the Centre for World University Ranking’s list are occupied by Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, and University of Oxford.
Congratulations to all students, graduates, and faculty members!
