Weather warning! Force 8-9 winds expected today which will linger a little this weekend
Mother Nature is in a MOOD and bringing out the big guns. Yup, strong winds are on the horizon with various weather sites warning of the weather forecast and urging locals not to explore exposed areas.
“As already predicted several days ago, a strong wind warning from the East to Northeast is now confirmed,” Aggornament tat-temp shares, saying that the worst of it will be today between 10am and 1pm with Force 8 winds as well as gusts of Force 9 winds mostly from the East.
“Don’t head to places near cliff edges exposed to the East winds,” the weather site warns. “Be responsible. This warning is effective until 4am on Saturday even though after 11pm winds will die down to Force 7 and gusts of Force 8.”
The Met Office also issued a weather warning. “The East to Southeast wind will be strong at times over the Maltese Islands. Later it will become very strong. This warning is valid until 11am and may be renewed accordingly.” The Met Office notes that East Southeast Force 7 winds will become East northeast with highs of 18⁰C and lows of 13⁰C, even though there’s a certain chill in the air.
