If the Dingli Cliffs tickle your fancy, this one’s for you!
Local explorer Angelo Caruana is big on documenting his adventures, which involve anything from trekking and cycling to kayaking and caving. The one thing that connects all these expeditions is that they each show off the Maltese islands’ beauty.
Angelo is usually accompanied by his two fellow adventurers, Pierre Farrugia and Vince Bonello Pukka, but this time he decided to venture off on his own.
For this latest adventure, he ventured into the Fawwara area, Dingli, to trek to the Gebel Ciantar Plateau.
He started off his trek at the Annunciation Chapel built back in the 18th century by the Sciberras family.
Whilst traveling along this trail, he encountered two-mile stones. These could possibly be the originals from hundreds of years ago, although Angelo wasn’t absolutely certain.
Once Angelo made it to the upper part of the plateau, he was met with beautiful views of Dingli Cliffs.
On his descent, Angelo came across a small, abandoned room. The structure had holes in its rocks with small stores, which are thought to have been used as granaries or water cisterns.

This is a great spot for a family trek, although Angelo suggests being extra cautious when reaching the Ġebel Ciantar Plateau if you have any kiddos with you.
