Videos of people on lockdown in Italy singing in their balconies have gone viral over the last few days. Confined to their homes due to the Corona pandemic that has brought the country to its knees, this ingenious idea has allowed them to collectively lift each other’s morale while keeping within safe distance of each other.

While Malta is not on a lockdown, many have voluntarily locked themselves in to prevent the spread of the dreaded virus. Following the Italians’ lead, Tony Camilleri - a popular Maltese singer, also took to his balcony to serenade his street with a beautiful and lively rendition of popular local song Viva Malta by Freddie Portelli.
