We can all agree that our country is quite the stunner when it comes to natural landscapes and historical sites. And this videographer has created a really cool montage of Malta's “gold and blue” scenery, which truly bring out the island’s mesmerising colours. Here are just some of the gorgeous places around the Maltese Islands the video features.
1. Blue Lagoon
An obvious feature is Comino’s Blue Lagoon, with its honey-coloured cliffs that merge with the crystal blue waters and has every visitor in awe each year.
2. Valletta's backstreets
The videographer also features the quiet backstreets of older cities in comparison to the bustling seaside areas that lots of people flock to on the daily during the summer months.
3. Triton Fountain
The recently-restored Triton Fountain is right outside the city’s gates and is the first glorious site you’ll see as you walk into the centuries-old capital of Valletta.
4. Sea caves
Malta is known to have an incredible underwater world, and one that speaks for itself. Sea caves are one way of getting a closer look at the underwater beauties, and guided boat rides will do just the trick.
5. Ta’ Pinu Basilica
The video also features Gozo’s sacred spot – Ta’ Pinu Minor Basilica in Gharb. The place has legends attached to it (as most historical spots around our islands do) and is a popular spot for some peace and quiet, with magnificent views.
6. Siege Bell War Memorial
This prominent memorial commemorates all the comrades fallen during World War II, a time when Malta was bombarded on a daily basis.
