A warning to all Birkirkara dog owners.
Yesterday evening, local Jay Galea took to Facebook to express his horror at the shocking scene he had witnessed as he was on his way to the an ATM on Tower Road, Birkirkara.
A stray puppy known to locals in the area for being friendly and loving was attacked by two dogs belonging to a local dog owner. Shockingly, the attack was so severe that the puppy was dead within minutes
Describing the incident, Jay says that despite having “tried my best” as the helpless pup whined and cried out for help, he was no match for the two dogs, even with the help of “a very kind lady saw all of this and helped as much as she could.”
Animal Welfare were called, and they quickly arrived at the scene, but unluckily it was too late to save the powerless puppy.
Jay goes on to insist that the dogs that attacked the puppy were not to blame, as he could not understand why their owner would have allowed them to become so aggressive.
All dog owners in the nearby area should be careful and avoid Tower Road at all costs to prevent another tragic accident like this from happening, he warns.
Do you think that more should be done to stop dog owners from allowing their pets to be so aggressive?
