Just one month to go! Gipsy Kings set to ignite the stage at Għaxaq Music Festival this July
Malta is getting ready to welcome true music royalty as the Grammy award-winning Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo take the stage at the Għaxaq Grounds on Friday, 18th July. With their signature sounds of flamenco, rumba, salsa and pop, this one-night-only concert promises to be an unforgettable celebration of rhythm and passion.
With over 20 million albums sold, multiple Platinum certifications, and a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album, the Gipsy Kings have long secured their place among the music world’s elite. Their infectious, high-energy hits like Bamboleo, Djobi Djoba, Volare, Baila Me, and unforgettable renditions of Hotel California and A Mi Manera have been lighting up stages and dance floors around the globe for over 40 years.
This Malta concert forms part of their global ‘BACK TO THE ORIGINS’ Tour 2025, which celebrates their four-decade legacy with electrifying live performances featuring six guitars, pulsating percussion, and a deep, authentic gypsy soul. The band is led by Diego Baliardo, a founding member and guardian of a rich musical heritage that dates back to the legendary Manitas de Plata.
From the glamorous French Riviera to the world's most iconic stages including Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Gipsy Kings have captivated millions. Now, it’s Malta’s turn to feel the fire.
In true festival spirit, the event also supports a great cause. A portion of all ticket sales will go to Embrace Diversity Organization, which helps empower children and young people with disabilities. To date, this initiative has raised more than €200,000 for charity.
Held under the patronage of the Malta Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Culture, Festivals Malta, and Rock ‘n’ Malta, the Għaxaq Music Festival continues to bring world-class performances to local audiences while giving back to the community.
