WATCH: Old Hamrun railway station comes back to life with incredible scale replica

A video has surfaced online that gives an indication as to how public transport, and Hamrun, could have looked circa a century ago.

The footage features an impressive scale model which is believed to be a faithful representation of the Hamrun railway station, which was in operation between 1883 and 1931.

The scale replica formed part of a larger exhibit called Destination Hamrun, held last weekend at the headquarters of the 1st Hamrun Scout Group, previously the Hamrun railway station.

The event shared information about the history of the railway station in Malta with special focus on Hamrun’s station, which at the time was one of the main points along the route connecting the new capital Valletta to the old one, Mdina.
