Exploring the beauty of the Crown Daisy! Discover one of Malta’s most common flowers
It might be familiar, but it never gets old!

Emma Galea

When going on a causal walk anywhere around the Maltese countryside, you’re bound to come across the yellow crown daisy flower.

Although very common all across the islands, the flower still holds incredible beauty!

The bright yellow flower is most often pollinated by flies and small beetles.

Here in Malta, the plant is used solely for aesthetic purposes. However, in other cultures such as in China, the plant is also used for food, specifically as an herb in stir fries.

In Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese cultures, the plant is also often used as a side vegetable and dish.

Can you imagine yourself eating it?
