Remember Michela Agius? The up-and-coming Maltese singer released a music video cover last year of the old-time Beatles classic Something, and now, she’s debuting her first single!

The singer’s brand-new single called In Your Head is about a situation that we all know too well. “It’s all about having feelings for someone, and you know they do too, but you’re trying to find out what’s in their head,” Michela tells me. #Dejavumuch?

The song was co-written by Michela along with local band Red Electrick’s Aleandro Spiteri Monsigneur and Peter Borg as well as Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca. “You’re so talented and thank you for creating and writing this with me. I genuinely cannot be happier!” wrote Michela on Facebook this morning.

Produced at Railway Studios, the song “would not have been complete without Edouard Tabone DeMarco’s interpretation,” who managed to capture the vibe in the music video.

“It’s an absolute dream to be writing my own stuff and putting them out,” she tells me. “I can be myself and it’s also a learning curve for my career.” Michela’s summer song is inspired from organic pop, she explains, a genre she absolutely “fell in love with.”

So what does the future hold for Michela? The singer reveals that she plans to write more music to release soon, and also has a lead in FM Theatre Productions’ next musical We Will Rock You as the legendary Scaramouche. You go girl! “This is only the beginning,” she says.
