WATCH: Local explorer visits Qrendi’s lesser-known Tal-Hamrija Coastal Tower
Pierre is at it again...

Local adventurer Pierre Farrugia is on a years-long mission to showcase the islands hidden gems.

Following last week’s daring Ghar Lapsi venture, this time, Pierre set off to Qrendi’s Tal- Hamrija Coastal Tower. Although Hagar Qim usually steals the spot light in the area, there are some lesser-known beautiful trails in the temples’ vicinity that usually go unnoticed.

Thanks to Pierre, we now get to enjoy them!

The Tal-Hamrija Coastal Tower is found between the historical sights of Hagar Qim and the Mnajdra Temples. Boasting gorgeous views and a variety of flora, this is the perfect spot for a family picnic if you're not much of a trekker.

This historical landmark is one of 13 watchtowers that Grandmaster De Redin built to guard Malta from the Turks.

As Pierre makes his way down a paved path leading to the tower, he warns viewers to be cautious as the trail can get pretty challenging.

Having said that, the view is definitely worth the trouble, as Filfa and Ghar Lapsi can be seen on the horizon when reaching the final pit stop for this trek.

The path along the cliff is quite literally covered in history. Pierre even stumbled upon a piece of old pottery probably made a couple of hundred years ago!.
