You’ve probably heard of the three-year-old model with Down Syndrome who’s making waves in the local fashion world. Sweet Francesca loves pursuing modelling and has taken part in various local shows, spreading awareness about inclusivity – even winning a trophy or two!

We sat down with her mother, Michelle Rausi to talk about what she’s been up to and what’s in store. “Francesca just did a photoshoot for Original Marines Autumn/Winter collection,” her proud mama says, explaining she’s got more shoots for other brands in the pipeline. “She’s also starting modelling classes with Sue Rossi,” Michelle reveals.

Francesca was also a special guest in a modelling show held by Gaffiero Productions earlier this month and will be embarking on a cool new adventure in the coming months. “Francesca will be competing for Junior Winter Elegance this November,” Michelle says. She’ll look so adorable in a winter ball gown!

While Francesca is still in kindergarten, Michelle believes modelling is a big help to her schooling. “I believe modelling helps her express herself, which works hand in hand with school activities.”

Last we spoke to Michelle and Francesca back in July, the young model had just won Little Cute Model, Best Televoting and came Second in her category during a modelling show by Ivan Gaffiero. Since then, she went on to winning the title of Junior Super Model Malta and came fourth overall. What an absolute QUEEN! Francesca also happens to be an ambassador of Nothing Down who congratulated her on her big wins. “We are so proud of you, sweet girl! You are changing the way the world views Down Syndrome,” they remarked.

Michelle also says that it warms her heart to know that her daughter is helping raise awareness about inclusivity within the local community. “Francesca is changing perceptions about Down Syndrome and that was my dream. Receiving messages from new mothers telling me that seeing Francesca helps them to deal with the situation gives me so much happiness.”
