The peaceful sunrise was livestreamed to Facebook

Today marks the Spring Equinox, one of only two days in the year when the sun and the equator are aligned. To celebrate such a special occurrence, Heritage Malta generally opens the Mnajdra & Hagar Qim temples at 5.45am to offer visitors a mystical experience, but unfortunately, this could not be done this year due to Corona health restrictions.

Thankfully, technology came in extremely handy at such a moment and Heritage Malta livestreamed the stunning sunrise as seen from inside the ancient temples on their Facebook page. The stream has already garnered over 20,000 views and almost 300 shares in under five hours, with many thanking Heritage Malta for sharing such a beautiful and peaceful experience.

Experience today's Spring Equinox through the video below:

The next equinox will happen in September!

20th March 2020

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
