The proposed development will eat up nearly 20,000 square metres of agricultural land if it goes ahead

Almost 500 objections have been submitted in under a week against a proposed development for a Chinese embassy to be built on nearly 20,000 square metres of agricultural land.

Partit Demokratiku leader Timothy Alden also posted a petition and suggested that instead of agricultural land being sacrificed for this project, one of Malta’s historical yet dilapidated buildings could be renovated and used for this purpose.

Residents have until 29th April to submit their objections by sending an email to [email protected] quoting “PA/09786/19 Objection” in the subject and asking the Planning Authority not to approve this permit.

26th April 2020
