Thursday 11th March: 4 people pass away as Malta registers 283 new cases today

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 283 new cases of COVID-19 after 4,746 swabs were done in the past 24 hours. 

The islands have registered 338 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 22,176 and the number of active cases to 3,123. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 25,640 cases and has performed 742,643 swab tests. Over the past 24 hours, three males passed away aged 79, 72 and 60 respectively as well as an 80-year-old female, all at Mater Dei. This means Malta's total number of deaths now stands at 341.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 10th March, 108,971 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands. 36,246 of these were second doses.
