However, one singer won’t be taking the stage, following some heartbreaking news. Emma Marrone has just announced that she will be suspending her career as from Monday due to health issues. While the singer didn’t elaborate further, she did battle cancer back in 2009, and many are speculating it has returned.

In an Instagram post quoting John Lennon, she thanked her fans for the support and the Radio Italia Live team for “their immediate understanding.” She also expressed her disappointment for not being able to attend the much-awaited concert. “I’m really sorry for everyone who spent money on flights and accommodation for Malta to watch me. You have no idea how much I wanted to be on that stage to sing for you all.”

Emma promises that she will come back “stronger than ever” to the music scene. Radio Italia have said that “there will be other opportunities” for Emma to sing on their stage, and that they are by her side during this journey.

The Radio Italia Live Concert is just a few weeks away and will see the likes of Italian singers like J-Ax, Mahmood, Alessandra Amoroso, Gigi d’Alessio, Francesco Gabbani and many more hitting the stage at The Granaries. The show will be presented by Marco Maccarini and Amadeus.
