Someone is taking the environment seriously, and he's adorable to boot. Meet Archie, a Maltese five-year-old boy who has a passion for recycling and garbage trucks!

So much so that Archie’s mum reached out to environmental activist Cami Appelgren a while back, in search of a picker for her son. Cami was so moved by Archie’s love for the environment that she offered him one of her kids’ pickers.

“If my fight, blood, sweat and tears at least had a positive impact on this boy, it was worth it,” Cami wrote on Facebook a few hours ago. “When we met up he showed me all his bins for waste separation, all the garbage truck toys he had and we also spoke about how his highlight of the day is to see the collection of garbage and go to the recycling domes. He also cleaned his own neighbourhood!” Awhh! We’ve got a little activist in our midst.

Archie, knowing how hot it is outside, offered the garbage collectors some cold water as they were passing his street today. “Well done Archie (and mum) for being the heroes we need! We should all follow suit, and you will one day lead the change. I have no doubts about that!”

Well done, Archie!
