The renowned food guide Taste Atlas ranks Malta’s ‘Imqarrun il-Forn’ as the 22nd best casserole worldwide
A Chilean dish made the top of the list.
In a top 50 list of the most delicious casseroles all across the world, posted by the prestigious food and travel guide, Taste Atlas, the Maltese ‘Imqarrun il-Forn’ ranked as the 22nd most delicious casserole in all the world.
The mouth-watering Imqarrun il-Forn, which got a score of 4.1 from Taste Atlas, is without a doubt one of Malta’s most staple and iconic dishes.

It largely consists of baked pasta cooked in a meat based creamy sauce, that will leave you wishing for more, so it comes as no surprise that the dish made the list.
Chile’s Pastel de Choclo made the top of the list followed by Brazil’s Escondidinho and Italy’s Parmigiana alla Napoletana.
