Skip the parking stress!

Heading to Birgu for tomorrow’s Museums by Candlelight event? On Saturday 10th May, the Malta Maritime Museum, The Inquisitor’s Palace, and Fort St Angelo in Birgu will all be open for extended hours, from 7 PM until midnight. The reduced price of €3 grants access to all three sites (and free entry to Heritage Malta members), where the flickering glow of candles and torches will create an unforgettable atmosphere.

To help visitors make the most of this special evening, both Malta Public Transport and the Valletta Ferry Service have announced extended operations.

Malta Public Transport has added evening bus trips on Route 2, which connects Valletta to Birgu via Floriana, Hamrun, Marsa, Paola, Bormla and Birgu. Additional trips will operate throughout the evening to accommodate eventgoers returning home from the festivities, which run until midnight. Departures from Valletta will begin at 18:30 and returns from Birgu will be extended till 23:55.

Prefer a scenic route? The Valletta–Three Cities ferry is also extending its hours for the occasion, with the last ferry leaving at midnight from Birgu’s waterfront. The route passes through the Grand Harbour, offering gorgeous night-time views of the capital and the Three Cities – definitely a good way to end the night!

Will you be heading to Birgu tomorrow evening?
