Travelling to Gozo in summer just got easier! Just this morning, a fourth vessel that is being operated by the Gozo Channel arrived at Cirkewwa in order to help out with the summer travel demands between Malta and Gozo, as was announced last May.
And with the queues reported last weekend, it's not a moment too soon!
During a press conference this morning, Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana announced that this ferry can clear out all the cars in the waiting bay with just one trip. Say what?!
It was also announced that this ferry is faster than the current ones in operation, sporting new engines and a shiny new body, so the travel time between Malta and her sister isle will be shorter.
A new schedule will also be released, including a ferry dedicated to commercial vehicles needing to cross the islands. This project has been in the pipeline for around a year, and after much research, the next step will be to bring over the fourth vessel on a permanent basis.
Who's up for a trip to Gozo?
