Te fit-Tazza sheds light on modernist architecture gems in Balzan
Balzan is “a treasure trove for Modernism”

Sarah Micallef

Maltese design heavyweights Te Fit-Tazza have made a name for themselves in recent years, celebrating some of the islands’ more aesthetically pleasing characteristics in their unique illustration style.

And now, fresh from the opening of their new Souvenirs That Don’t Suck shop in Valletta, the Te fit-Tazza boys are turning their attention to Balzan, with a series of photos showcasing modernist architecture gems in the locality.

With several architectural styles leaving their mark on local architecture over the years, the first half of the 20th century gave rise to several gems across the islands, most notably built in Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Italian futurist, rationalist and modernist styles.

Could this be the seed of something new brewing at Te fit-Tazza? Only time will tell!
