Motorists planning to travel along the Coast Road on Sunday morning are being advised to allow extra time for their journey, as part of the route will be temporarily closed to accommodate a sporting event organised by the Malta Triathlon Federation.

The road closure will be in effect on Sunday, 26th July, from 6:30am until 10:00am, affecting a section of Coast Road in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq while the event takes place.

Transport Malta is urging drivers to plan ahead and make use of alternative routes during the closure to minimise delays. Those travelling towards the northern part of the island, particularly during the morning hours, are encouraged to check their route before setting off.

The temporary traffic measures are being introduced to ensure the safety of both participants and road users during the Malta Triathlon Federation event.

Once the event concludes, the affected stretch of Coast Road is expected to reopen to normal traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to stay updated with any further announcements from Transport Malta ahead of the weekend.

Will this affect our Sunday morning commute?
