Sponsor a kid this Christmas! Local org seeking donations for underprivileged kids in India
Mission4Changes needs your help this Christmas! The local voluntary organisation is currently in India to help out the sisters there, and have also issued a call for people to sponsor kids living in the area. We spoke to Anselmo Bugeja, the leader of the organisation, who told us more about the mission and the sponsorship.

“The mission is of the daughters of the sacred heart. This is a Maltese congregation headed by Sr Pauline Farrugia, the mother general. The provincial mother in India is Sr Marina Sebastian. Their mission here started in 1949, coming here to help Bishop Francis Xavier Fenech who was a capuchin and the Bishop of Jhansi. Ever since they opened over 20 homes for locals. Now they are opening a new mission in Jowai Hills,” Anselmo shares. “They have a school here with 17 teachers and they have 239 students of which 11 are boarding students because they are too poor to pay the studies."

The organisation is asking for sponsorships for these 11 children ranging from ages five to 18, costing €120 per child. This is enough to maintain these poor kids for one year. “They are fed, educated and dressed by the sisters of the sacred heart,” which is a costly task for them. This morning three sponsors were left, but in the past few hours, two sponsors were found so just the one sponsor is needed to complete the list!
