The chapel was recently restored.

When major roadworks hit a town, there are bound to be repercussions, and unfortunately this gorgeous chapel in Attard is feeling the changes as a result of the Central Link Project roadworks.

St Paul’s Chapel in Attard dates back to about 1729 and was recently restored. Chapel custodian and historian Reno Saliba had appealed for a reroute of the project to save the chapel back in July. Mr Saliba has spoken about the matter once again, this time sharing some bad news.

“Cracks that surfaced before have now increased and are becoming a danger to the building,” he notes, saying that the chapel is now feeling the repercussions of the roadworks right behind it. “There is the need for immediate action from authorities,” he says, noting that he has taken action on his end.

Locals commented on Mr Saliba's post sharing the news and are appalled at the sorry sight of this poor chapel, especially after the work that was done to restore it to its former glory.
