Only last week, people walking in the Sliema area were shocked to find a dead dolphin amidst a cloud of plastic waste. While no reason has yet been given for its death, theories suggest it might have either succumbed to injuries sustained after getting entangled in fishermen's nets or injested plastic material, which ultimately caused its untimely death.

Now, barely a week later, a second dead dolphin has been spotted washed ashore in the Selmun area. Locals out for a walk in the area reported that they found the mammal, which they referred to as a baby dolphin, with blood on its face and it's body oozing a rotting smell, a sign which indicates that the animal's carcass had been lying there for some time.

Once again, it's unclear what led to this dolphin's fate, but it's certainly a sad sight to see.
