Say what?! Could this insane ancient remedy involving Malta temples actually be true?
Ancient settlers used all sorts of remedies to help the ill, but you wouldn’t believe this particular one. Ancients used healing through sound and somehow, Malta’s temples were involved. Intrigued? Read on!
According to Interesting Engineering, different rock structures, particularly Malta’s temples have had healing qualities all this time. Who’d have thunk?! These structures resonate a particular frequency of 111hz, a number that might mean zilch to many of us but is important in the medical world. We’ll get to that in a second.
While conducting studies, arcaeo-acoustician and professor at Cambridge, Paul Devereux found frequency resonances of the sort at burial cairns. Testing done at Malta’s Hypogeum (one of the world’s oldest standing structures) indicates that the sounds within its Oracle Chamber match this resonance pattern that Devereux discovered.
According to Interesting Engineering, through his discovery, Devreux “realized the beliefs which are based on a divine sound and divine frequency principle, meet in the same point.” So, this frequency was a direct line to the gods and to a trance state? Hmm…
“MRI scans show that the brain switches off the prefrontal cortex and deactivates the language center that is responsible for holistic processing, creativity, intuition, and inducing a phase at exactly 111 Hz. This reaction results in a divine level of meditation, the trance that some believe allows you to get connected with the universe, God or a creator.” Woah…
Whether this remedy actually worked or not, we have no clue. Do we believe it? We probably need a little more convincing, tbh. What do you make of all this?
